At Highlands Ranch Concrete our experienced concrete contractor team goes through a minimum 9 step process on all concrete sidewalk work. This varies by project, but all concrete work must have at least these steps performed from start to finish. Beginning with Consultation and Design we meet with the customer to discuss the job, review design ideas and requirements, and discuss total cost and timing. Next we will schedule a time to begin work and begin the site prep. This typically includes clearing the work area and ensuring the site is level. Excavation is an exciting part of the job where old material is broken up and hauled away! After the old material is removed the base material is applied and rebar/steel mesh may be used to reinforce and add structural stability to the project. Concrete pouring and leveling is another time to notice your project coming to life. This is the heart of the installation and involves pouring the concrete mixture onto the prepped surface. Finishing the concrete can come in a wide range of colors, styles and unique expressions. From staining, acidizing, stamping…. All of these techniques fit into the ‘finishing’ part of the job and give the project that new look. After finishing, the concrete must rest and cure, after all it’s traveled a long way and needs time to settle into it’s new home. A sealer may then be applied after curing is complete. Finally an inspection is performed with our job foreman and the customer, any touch-ups are addressed and site is cleaned up. Before concluding the project we will provide you with maintenance tips, such as cleaning your concrete, pressure washing, and applying additional sealer over time.
